Of course Los Angeles can get pretty hot in August, so I was looking for a shady hike not too far from where I live in Azusa, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful trail that follows a creek, and has plenty of shade. There are multiple trails, but we chose the one next to the creek. I believe there are some other trails that go up on the hills a bit and are perhaps less shady (certainly appeared that way). But along the creek are some small waterfalls, and even a rope swing. There was also a shaded picnic area under a pavilion. I took a few pictures.
