It’s been about 3 years since I became the organizer of the Irvine Chinese and English Meetup group. Not only do we have a Meetup.com group with about 1400 members but we also have a WeChat group with 250 members. You can see our picture from this week. It looks like we had about 22 people, plus I think there were a couple of people that arrived early or late that were not in the pictures. We have some very talented and successful people in our group. I recall a couple of weeks ago, there were two members who could speak together in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, Thai and Spanish. So amazing. I can speak Mandarin pretty well. My next best language is Spanish. I can speak a little Cantonese too, but not enough to have a conversation, and I know some words in Thai and Japanese. It’s always inspiring to listen to polyglots speaking. I love languages, and hopefully I can one day aspired to their level!
