Replit review

So after hearing some good things about Replit, I decided to give it a try. It’s basically an AI application for building apps and writing software. At first, I was really excited about it because it quickly got together a lot of the needed libraries and file structure and got everything set up pretty good in the beginning. I

And think this is still something worthwhile about Replit. So you want to build a PHP app with some JavaScript library and some other dependencies. It will get everything together for you and get all the files uploaded and get a good file structure started.

But the problem I ran into, like many other apps of its kind is that it will get into what I call failure mode. Basically you can repeat the question multiple times and rephrase it in different ways to try to get to a solution on a problem and it just keeps outputting the same mistake again and again.

The result was after I tried to solve just a single problem multiple times. I ran out of programming time in the app and it told me I had to come back tomorrow. It didn’t seem very fair that I would be charged for the app just repeatedly answering incorrectly and not solving the bug.

I looked on Reddit and there are a lot of people complaining about Replit, and I decided I would just give up for now. Apparently they got some venture capital funding and they were giving people a lot of free credits, but then perhaps they are running out of money and they have had to tighten things up a bit and the result was my experience where I couldn’t solve the bug.

Anyways, it wasn’t all terrible and perhaps they will keep improving and it will be something worth checking out again in the future!
