I’ve never seen anything like it. There is smoke throughout the city. You walk outside and the visability is very low.
For me it is causing my throat to swell up and a cough that won’t go away.
There is a fire down in South Georgia that has been burning for over 1 month now and every couple of days the wind brings the smoke in the direction of Atlanta. There are major advisories for people to stay indoors, and you see people outside wearing masks.
There is no forcast for rain soon, and the fire may go on for a while still. There has been some discussion that paper companies have planted all these trees for making paper that burn very easily, and had the natural vegetation been there, the fire would not have been so difficult to put out.
When you have smoke like this, and you don’t want to go outside, it really makes you start to think about what we are doing to the environment.
